Quiet streets, then open road
Mount Hope has two speeds: calm residential streets where a first lesson can be all about steering and stopping, and fast roads like Upper James Street and Highway 6 just outside the village.

Roads around Mount Hope
The subdivision streets
Two-lane residential streets like Thames Way. A good place to get used to the car before there’s much traffic around.
Homestead Drive
A quiet street past Mount Hope Park and the library branch. Watch for parked cars and kids heading to the park.
Upper James Street
The main road through the village, and a fast one. It runs north past the airport toward the Linc and the rest of Hamilton.
Highway 6
Heads south to Caledonia and north to Highway 403 at Ancaster. A step up in speed before the 400-series highways.
Airport Road and Glancaster Road
Two-lane country roads past the airport and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Parts of them have no street lights, so they’re worth practising in daylight first.
Dickenson Road and White Church Road
Two-lane roads on the edge of the airport lands. Good for holding a steady speed and judging gaps.
